Rooted: Portraits of Place and Belonging

A Touring Exhibition

Developed over nearly four decades, Rooted: Portraits of Place and Belonging is a body of large-format documentary portraits made with a 4×5 view camera. The work reflects a slow, collaborative process grounded in dialogue and sustained engagement with individuals in rural and historically underrepresented communities This methodology situates the project within the American documentary tradition while engaging contemporary questions of place, labor, identity, and representation.

Rooted: Portraits of Place and Belonging is available as a touring exhibition with an exhibition fee, and can be scaled to align with institutional budgets and programming priorities. Public programs—such as an artist talk, gallery discussion, or community-focused event—can be incorporated as part of the presentation.
